Presenoldeb / Attendnace

Dros y ddwy flynedd diwethaf, mae canran presenoldeb yr ysgol wedi disgyn, gyda’r canran am y flwyddyn ddiwethaf, 93.7%, gyda’r isaf erioed. O ganlyniad, fe fydd gwella presenoldeb yn un o’n blaenoriaethau am 2026/27. Yn ogystal a phresenoldeb ysgol gyfan, byddwn yn monitro’n agosach bresenoldeb grwpiau penodol o ddisgyblion. Tra bod ffactorau megis cyfnod o salwch o gwmpas Pasg diwethaf a thywydd eithafol wedi cael ychydig o effaith ar bresenoldeb llynedd, gwelwyd cynnydd hefyd mewn nifer o ddigsyblion yn mynd ar wyliau am fwy na’r 10 niwrnod a ganiateir. Gofynwn i chi ystyried effaith colli ysgol ar addysg a dyfodol eich plentyn cyn mynd ar wyliau yn ystod y tymor ysgol ac os ydech yn mynd, i gadw o fewn y 10 diwrnod y flwyddyn. Mae’n rhaid llenwi’r ffurflen cais am wyliau cyn mynd; rydym yn cymryd i ystyriaeth bresenoldeb plentyn cyn awdurdodi gwyliau, gan edrych yn ol ar y flwyddyn addysgol flaenorol os yw y gwyliau yn fuan yn ystod y flwyddyn. Mae copi o’r polisi presenoldeb i weld ar ein safle gwe (https://ysgolplascoch.cymru/polisi-presenoldeb-a-gwyliau-yn-ystod-y-tymor-attendance-policy-and-holidays-during-term-time/) – mae’r AALl wrthi’n diweddaru y polisi yma a pholisi Rhybudd Cosb Penodedig; byddwn yn gadael i chi wybod am unrhyw newidiadau pan fyddwn yn derbyn rhain.

Over the last two years, the school’s attendance percentage has dropped, with last year’s percentage of 93.7% with the lowest ever. As a result, improving attendance will be one of our school priorities for 2026/27. As well as whole school attendance, will will be closely monitoring the attendance of specific groups of pupils. While factors such as extreme weather and a sickness around last Easter had some effect on last year’s attendance, there was also an increase in the number of pupils missing school due to holidays with also an increase in the number taking more than 10 days in the educational year. Please consider the effect of missing school on your child’s education and future when taking your child on holiday during the school term and if you do, keep within the 10 that can be authorised. A holiday request form must be completed beforehand; we take into consideration a child’s attendance before authorising a holiday including looking back on the previous year’s attendance if the holiday is early in the year. A copy of our attendance policy can be found on our website (https://ysgolplascoch.cymru/polisi-presenoldeb-a-gwyliau-yn-ystod-y-tymor-attendance-policy-and-holidays-during-term-time/ ) – the LEA are currently updating this policy and their Fixed Penalty Notice policies and will will let you know of any changes when we receive them.
