Marathon Llundain / London Marathon

Ar Ebrill 26ain, bydd un o rieni’r ysgol, Emma Pemberton yn rhedeg marathon Llundain. Yn garedig iawn, mae Emma wedi penderfynu codi arian at yr ysgol drwy redeg y marathon, yn benodol i gefnogi ein darpariaeth ar gyfer Anghenion Dysgu Ychwanegol.

Rydym yn hynod o ddiolchgar ac yn dymuno’r gorau i Emma yn y paratoi ac ar y diwrnod ei hun. Os hoffech noddi Emma, gallwch wneud hynny drwy’r ddolen Just Giving ar waelod y neges yma – bydd nawdd o unrhyw swm yn cael ei werthfawrogi’n fawr iawn. Isod hefyd mae neges gan Emma.

On April 26th, one of the school’s parents, Emma Pemberton will be running the London Marathon. Emma has very kindly decided to raise funds towards the school by running the marathon, specifically to support our provision for Additional Learning Needs.

We are very grateful and wish Emma all the best in the training beforehand and also on the day. If you’d like to sponsor Emma, you can do so through the Just Giving link at the bottom of this message – donations of any amount will be very much appreciated. There is also below a message from Emma:

🏃‍♀️ London Marathon for Ysgol Plas Coch 🏃‍♀️
This year I’m taking on a challenge I never imagined I would — running the London Marathon.
I’ve been incredibly lucky to gain a place through the ballot, and while this marathon is a huge personal goal, I want it to have a much bigger purpose. I’m raising money for Ysgol Plas Coch, my boys’ primary school, to help support children with additional learning needs. Every donation will go towards providing extra resources, support and opportunities for the children who need it most.
Like many schools at the moment, Ysgol Plas Coch is facing increasingly tough financial pressures. Funding is stretched, costs are rising, and schools are being asked to do more with less. This fundraiser is my small way of giving something back and helping, even in a little way, to support the incredible work the school does for all the children every day.
Running a marathon is something I never thought I’d even consider, let alone actually attempt. The training will be tough, the distance intimidating, and there will definitely be moments where I question myself — but knowing I’m doing this for such an important cause will keep me going.
This marathon holds deep personal meaning. The race takes place on the one-year anniversary of losing Taid Gilmour, and it’s also my year of turning 40. Running 26.2 miles on that day will be an emotional challenge as well as a physical one, but it feels like a powerful way to honour his memory while pushing myself beyond my comfort zone.
Any donation, big or small, would mean so much — not only to me, but to the children and families at Ysgol Plas Coch. Thank you for supporting me, cheering me on, and helping turn this incredible challenge into something truly meaningful.
Diolch yn fawr iawn
Emma xx
